I'm about 20 minutes form St. Louis in Illinois. Just got a new Mavic last week. This is my first DJI product and I love it. Still learning all the features of the Mavic and DJI go4 app. Would love to get together with other pilots and share knowledge and do a little fun flying.

Hey TCRay,

I'd love to meet up sometime. I used to fly a P3S and just got the MP today. Not sure if you're allowed to fly from the bluffs at Pierre Marquette, I'll have to check, but I would love to get some video up there as well as get a distance run in. Where are some local places you like to fly? I have 2 parks just a few hundred feet from my house that I can fly from so I never got out much with the P3.

Echelon, sorry for the delay. I often take my drones down by the Alton Ampitheater. There is much space to fly, over the marina, by the bridge, over the river, etc. Around the ampitheater there are many light poles. I practice flying in and out of the light poles, doing figure eights, circles, etc. It is sharpening my control skills.

One of my friends lost his drone flying up on the bluffs. A gust of wind came out of nowhere and his drone went away. So I would be careful up there. I have access to the family farm, a few hundred acres, where I also fly.

Right now I am spending more time practicing my skills, getting good at the Litchi and DJI Go4 apps, and trying to lay the groundwork for a drone business.
