I would not fly outside with the guards. It’ll catch the wind like a sail.Would putting prop guards on it push it over the 250g?

The linked thread (which I read entirely) shows nothing to substantiate other than speculation since the required data could not be obtained by the user. Failure of a system after 70 flights, possible. So much for quality control:
Unexpected loss in altitude
So my mm also has finally shown the auto altitude loss on its 70th flight. Can someone please help me understand why this happened. After losing signal and autotriggering rth, the ac decided mid flight to start dropping altitude - look at the journey thru the checkpoints K/L/M/N. I hastily...mavicpilots.com
using the prop guards to fly in very confined woodland area ,to say film a stream or a small bridge would be fine as you would be sheltered from the wind by the trees,i have done something similar with the prop guards on,it also makes the drone very safe from damage if you did manage to clip a branch, and an added bonus because the guards are covering the blades they also offer protection from injury from the propsI would not fly outside with the guards. @Mori55 .. just remember that you’ll want to register your drone with FAA if you fly outside with the guards due to increased weight...easy to do and cheap.using the prop guards to fly in very confined woodland area ,to say film a stream or a small bridge would be fine as you would be sheltered from the wind by the trees,i have done something similar with the prop guards on,it also makes the drone very safe from damage if you did manage to clip a branch, and an added bonus because the guards are covering the blades they also offer protection from injury from the props
There are more of these instances now appearing on the DJI forum, my Mini has been faultless but this is my only concern which I’m sure DJI will fix moving forward with a updateThe linked thread (which I read entirely) shows nothing to substantiate other than speculation since the required data could not be obtained by the user. It's definitely not confidence inspiring. I've only been reading about these, but now that it's happened to me; I'll probably think more than twice before sending the mm as far out as much as i have been. That is, until a fix comes out, or atleast the cause is identified.T
