Battery charging cycles

I got maybe 40 cycles with my mpp. Now it bulges

Never put battery in fridge. Never change a temp drastically on any battery. It will effect the life of the battery. Never do this. It is on all sites about battery life degrad if you do this. No No No Never.
Put it in the fridge. It will be fine. I see a lot of people flying in the heat. Battery 2-3-4 get puffy. It’s heat from the bird. Gassing the cells.
 
3 batteries just 30 months old with 60 to 70 cycles each,and all puffed. Taken out of use as the battery frames also appear bent. Never left in a car in hot weather, never recharged while hot. Never discharged below 10%. Rarely flown in sport mode. The only thing that I might have done wrong is to leave days to self discharge at 10 days.
 
Never put a lipo battery in fridge or freezer. Let them cool down at room temperatures. If they bulge get rid of it. Using heat or cold, will ruin a lipo battery. It will shorten life of battery very quick.

Seems to be a common misconception you are keeping alive here. The chemical changes in LiION cells that lead to deterioration of capacity and overall performance over time definitely have a correlation to storage temperature. Cooler temperatures do attenuate the deterioration. This is demonstrable. It is also well demonstrated that the electrolyte used in LiPO cells has a freezing point well below that which might be attainable in a domestic freezer. While going below 20 degC does not provide a significant benefit it is real and people should have no fear storing LiION batteries in the fridge. As long as they are allowed to full acclimatise prior to charging/use there will be no ill effects.

It seems you are confused by opinion of others rather than facts. If you are interested in what is true a better source than YouTube videos might be the results of appropriate academic research and actual laboratory testing.

Not according to the people at protek. They only said do not take it from the temperature I have it at straight to a hot enough temperature to cause even more gassing and condensation. Working for me.

The condensation actually occurs when the battery cools- the moisture returns to a gaseous state when the battery warms up again (vaporisation, evaporation to be specific). No harm will come of it provided you allow the battery to acclimatise before use. The effect can be largely mitigated by placing the battery in a sealed bag before placing in the refrigerator.
 
Actually a sealed bag won't make much difference. The bag will have just as much moisture and will condense when cooled.

Think of it: we're not advised to not fly or carry batteries in cold temps. We might not be advised to leave them in cold weather indefinitely though.

You haven't thought about it enough perhaps- a sealed bay of limited volume (squeeze out excess air) must significantly reduce the available humid air that might condense.
