Hi I’m a beginner and looking for some advice please, I have a Mavic Air and have made a few flights now but on every flight I get warning messages saying strong interference return home, I’ve flown in different areas. Any suggestions please thanks

Are you flying in an area with lots of houses or buildings? Are you near a power plant or a radio station?

Lots of things cause interference to the wifi signal between the r/c and the quad, this gets worse the farther away you fly.

First, you need to tell us where you fly.

I have flown near houses and out in the wilderness were the were some power or tele cables close

Have you tried different wifi frequencies?

As I say I’m a beginner so changing frequency would be alien to me sorry

Can I ask just one question please, if I totally loose connection with my drone will it automatically return home??

If you have set it up to do that yes. I think by default it hovers in place until you reconnect.

Again, its easily changed in the settings.

Again that’s helpful as you can see I’m really at the beginning and think I need to find somebody who is at the same stage as me so we can bounce off, think there’s a forum on Facebook thanks again

A lot of your questions will be answered on youtube.

I have owned three DJI drones before this so I can navigate the settings easily now but it can be daunting for a new flyer like yourself. Just take it slow and you will be fine. Dont fly too far away until you are confident with all the settings and the controls.

Personally, I would advise you not to fly more than 100ft away without understanding how the return to home feature works. You dont just set and forget, you will need to update it depending on where and how you fly.

Good advice thanks again, I can pick things up fast but loads to learn here, you’ve taught me a lot already, yep agree you tube has many of the answers, I’m going to fly tomorrow keeping close and change the channel settings I’ve worked that out now, plus I’ll get on you tube in the morning and study RTH cheers

Another thing to do is to force you remote into FCC mode. It's easy to do. There are videos on YouTube showing you how to do it

I’m hoping I don’t need FCC mode, but thanks again, looking on you tube it seems I’m not the only one loosing signal, it seems to be the main problem with the Mavic Air

You definitely need FCC mode and no that is not the "main" issue with the Mavic Air
