I bought the Skydio 2 for this reason..... I get some great footage down low in trees and over the river at heights that make me nervous with my Air 2S. The obstacle avoidance on the Skydio is not perfect but it determines a path early so that it doesn't ruin my video. The Air 2S goes around things but in a much more jerky way with lots of stops and starts.
I am hoping that the Mavic 3 with its new omnidirectional long range sensors and predictive algorithm that are are part of Active track 5.0 will give me similar results. Unfortunately fully functional avoidance and tracking are not going to be implemented in the Mavic 3 until January so I think I will sit on the sidelines for a couple of months until the dust settles
