Best panorama stitching software?

Arguably the old way was better as you could cancel if you timed your moving of controls just right. So you could capture the images but cancel the stitching part.

Yes, 70mm - DJI hates that one simple trick.
It really boils down to whether you want the stitch or not. Previously, the 13MB stitches were like test polaroids, to help you decide if a manual stitch from the original images was worth making from the images. Some 360° panos just don't turn out well. The 13MB was good enough for that purpose. The more recent 75MB stitches are almost as good as a full manual stitch, where they have become much more valuable. I'm glad they now let us stop hovering and fly away during the stitching, without canceling it, as nothing attracts more unwanted attention than a hovering drone! Cutting that previous hovering time per 360 pano in half helps significantly in that regard. Panos are my favorite part of drone flying. All my extra flight time from bigger batteries is devoted to them. At 75 seconds per 360 pano, including stitching from 20MB stills, I return home with a bunch more than before, when I could barely squeeze in one or two during a 22 minute flight on the Mavic 2 Pro.
