Hi, I'm a drone newbie and one thing i can't see in the discussions is the best settings for your phone whilst flying. I've seen some say you are best in airplane mode, others say not. What happens if you get an incoming call? should i set do not disturb? You get my drift. Views appreciated :)

Since the drone is only flown with the remote controller, nothing will happen if you receive an incoming call. Just ignore it and continue flying. And certainly enable airplane mode if you don't want to be disturbed while flying.

In airplane mode You will not get map updates if you don’t have a cellular connection. You can cache the maps ahead of time.

If you view the maps at the scale you want while still connected to the internet, they will be stored locally on your tablet or phone, and will be used by the DJI software While flying. The storage area on your device is called a cache.

Thanks.

When you say 'view the maps' do you mean view them in Google maps or is this via DJI app ?Sorry for my ignorance.

I'm new so take this with a grain of salt, my my drone hasn't even arrived yet but I believe you just use whatever device you're using with the drone. You probably want to verify what mapping program it's going to use it may use Google by default I don't know. But then you just paying around the area that you are going to fly in And it will store the information on your phone or tablet. You must however zoom down to a point the road names begin to show up or it won't stick if I understand correctly. One more thing and again take this with a grain of salt but I believe android devices hold this information better than others.I'm sure the guys will get me if I'm wrong lol
