This is the absolute best chance to save your device if you ever crash your drone in the water or drop your phone/tablet or get any other electronic device wet. Go to your local hardware store and buy some desiccant/humidity control product. Dri-Z-Air Refill Crystals (anhydrous calcium chloride) is what I use and it's the best consumer available product for removing water and humidity from any electronic device.

Spread the crystals on the bottom of a container that can be sealed air tight, put some paper towel over the crystals and lay the drone/phone or whatever on the paper towel and seal it up. Leave for 48 hours and it will be bone dry. Depending on the mineral content of the water (salt water is worst) and how much of it was deposited on the electronic components your device may or may not work after it's dried out.

If the device doesn't work after drying, as a last ditch effort submerge it in distilled water, scrub the electronics with an old (clean) toothbrush and dry with the desiccant again for 48 hours. Alternatively if you have or know someone with an ultrasonic cleaner, put it in there with distilled water for 20 mins before drying and that will hopefully dislodge any corrosive or conductive minerals from the electronics.

Someone should make this a sticky topic since water damage is so common, rice is too delicious to waste and doesn't work even close to as good as a proper desiccant.
