What could possibly block the sensor. It was on a sidewalk.
I would never touch the IMU unless it actually gives you an IMU error. The manual explicitly says that. Just saying.A smear on the lens. Dirt. Orange Cheetos dust.
Or perhaps they were just no longer calibrated correctly due to a failed firmware update.
Who knows?! It's a MYSTERY!
It's also why I recalibrate vision, IMU and compass after a successful firmware update.
Well, in this instance, I can say 100% positively, I loaded .900 exactly as directed. No error messages, no warnings, nothing unusual. Took it out (never had problems with prior updates so why should I worry about this one?) placed it in my normal take off point, hit launch and it went straight up to about 40'. I attempted to stop the vertical lift, but the controller had no affect. Once it got to 40', it hovered and I was again able to take control. I immediately landed the craft, and called DJI. The rep didn't seem surprised, simply told me to reload the prior update. I did that and the craft flew perfectly. So, to say it was 100% HUMAN ERROR shows that you did not listen to all of the data presented or you work for DJI and are attempting to lighten the bad publicity. Either way, without evaluating all of the presented data, please don't make judgement calls. Perhaps you would care to explain how it was human error???? That might prove interesting....

I recently received a brand new mavic after mine was broken due to wind. I flew it a few times to get back in the saddle. I did not have time to update the drone to .900. Last night I finally had an opportunity to dive in. It failed. I was worried about my mavic being bricked so I took it outside to fly it at about knee height just to verify it would still fly. The props started and I gave it a little throttle it took off straight up. It would not stop no mater what I did. I held the down trottle to force a landing. It then fell out of the sky and broke my gimbal and a front leg. Please think twice before you you update.
Been running .900 since it was available, not one problem.
With all the horror stories ive been reading on updates. Ive drawn the conclusion that maybe immediately after an update, recalibrate the balls out of the mavic and controller?
That is exactly what I did after the update. The MP was showing it didn't need it,but I went ahead and did it anyway. With all the horror stories ive been reading on updates. Ive drawn the conclusion that maybe immediately after an update, recalibrate the balls out of the mavic and controller?
Read the manual, and watch a lot of you tube video's on the Mavic. There are answers out there for about any question you have, about the MP.Bought the Mavic for my grandkids. It arrived January. Due to ill health and other circumstances it has never left the ground, now I am petrified that my settings and the software installed will not be compatible. I can't find anyone in the area who can help me.
