Those photos really show the Kestrel's high-speed and low-speed wing configurations. The F-111 imitated that.

That would be an awesome experience! Which bird were you most impressed with?

The owl was probably my favourite as it looked superb and huge but in fact it’s all skin and bone under that handsome puffy (sound absorbing) plumage. The baldie was superb of course and was by far the heaviest lander literally ripping the chick out of my fist that I had been given to attract it to my arm. A great morning out.

Happened yesterday and it wasn’t an attack but it was a near miss. This bird was in the same flight path as me and had to change course to keep from hitting my drone at the last moment. I wasn’t moving forward when this occurred. I love the way it transitioned.
