Camera disappointment

Ive watched plenty of YouTube videos of guys like Casey neistat and see a lot of people’s content on this forum, but I’ve found myself pretty disappointed and not able to match the same cinematic quality of picture some people churn out.I am pretty new to video editing and I’m only using iMovie.. is that one of my biggest issues? Any advice or help is appreciate.

What you expect? Tiny sensor.. what you see it's a lot of post production.
