Cancelled order from dji shipped even after DJI said in chat that it was cancelled? Anyone experienced this before?

I ordered a mini 5 pro fmc this morning and immediately had buyers remorse and got on to dji and chatted with an agent who said it was being prepared for shipping but he had cancelled it and money would be back in my account once drone was in the warehouse and money would be on my card within three days.

I asked repeatedly if I had to do anything and he said no that it was all sorted at their side and nothing to worry about that he had contacted the relevant departments and systems and it was all good.

Thankfully I took screen shots of the entire chat.

DHL emailed me tonight at 10.30pm to say the drone would be delivered to me tomorrow

Anyone else experience anything like this?

Maybe you'll get a free drone. :)
Im never lucky dude, currently recovering from surgery and only cancelled it as common sense kicked in as I'm out of work on unpaid leave so immediately cancelled.

Never ordered directly from them before as I usually use amazon.

I read the conversation screenshots again and dji said nothing to worry about, it's all taken care of their side 😂

DHL are telling me delivery tomorrow to Ireland. Crazy! 😂

If I really wanted it, I doubt it would come that fast! 😂

"If I really wanted it, I doubt it would come that fast!" ...precisely.
Enjoy the drone now that you have it. It is well worth that minor hiccup, so don't lose sleep over it.

I will have to do that in the morning. It's weird as payment is still showing as pending on my card and DHL are sending me updates and according to the tracking it's on the way despite the customer service guy telling me it would not be dispatched and he had taken care of it.

Usually with my card provider, pending means they haven't taken the funds and it's a holding payment but why would they ship it before taking payment. In my experience most online purchases take the funds before shipping.

According to the tracking it's already gone from one side of Europe to the other.

I think this is just a miscommunication between departments or something.

I cancelled as have a ton of bills and waiting to recover for work and this was a luxury I didn't need for a while.

I have multiple drones and unfit to fly anyway.

Wonder if this is their way of hoping the customer will keep it once they see it 😂

As tempting as it might be to accept delivery, it is the right thing to do to refuse it, and DJI are not bad guys, so deserve to be treated fairly by us, as they would treat us in warranty situations, which is mostly very good. Best of both worlds though would be to accept the delivery, and ask DJI to (re)take the payment !

Definitely agree. I intend to get them to take the drone back at their own shipping costs since I have confirmation in writing. I would love to keep the purchase and let them have payment but timing is not right for me. Im not sure if I will get a chance to refuse delivery as couriers here tend to be very lax and leave things around the back of the house and the likes. So it might be a wait and see situation. Just seems like there is a miscommunication internally with them.

I do applaud them on the insane shipping speed even though it is not supposed to be shipping.

It's in the air to Ireland now.

Im kinda excited, never had a product shipped so quickly. I have had a lot of drones, from phantom Pro, Mavics, airs and all the mini except one of them, even had a spark! I held onto a few though.

Going to be a hard one not to open the box if it's delivered.

I only have one arm useful at the moment but I might cancel the cancellation yet.

First time in my life that I cancel a product and get it within 24 hrs when other people are waiting for theirs.

I will update this today later. Sleep is a luxury at the moment. Accidents suck.

Little quick update. It's 16km away from my address. Dji contacted me at 6am, which I didn't see but that doesn't matter. They said they tried to stop the order but a slow down between departments meant it shipped. Fair enough, these things happen. I replied to tell them to accept payment if the drone is delivered.

So it looks like it's going to arrive at some point today

Enjoy your get well gift to yourself!
Thanks so much @Rchawks

I've been bored to tears recovering for six weeks that I probably treated myself to a cheer me up toy! 😊

Although I'm sure others would tell me that I have other things to purchase as living in a new house back where I am from in the Midwest of Ireland and to me, it's drone heaven with loads of landscapes, woods, lakes, mountains, etc.

Plus as we drone enthusiasts know, having a drone is a great way to get out and chill! 😊

After multiple notifications from DHL couriers updating me methodically about how close they were getting to delivery, well it didn't arrive.

But I discovered something really interesting!

DHL now employ invisible delivery drivers! It must be new technology! 😂

They notified me that they attempted delivery but I was here all day and saw nobody, my ring doorbell pro didn't detect anyone and my cctv didn't either.

Its scheduled for a redelivery tomorrow.

It's going to look really interesting to see the box coming out of the van and up to my door and no visible person holding it. Can't make eye contact either as I won't know if they are short or tall 😂

Fingers crossed it will arrive in the morning.

Remember those young children that used to ring doorbells and quickly ran away before the homeowner could answer the door? Well, they all got hired by courier companies when they got older...

So latest update is DJI have now taken the money from my card so I guess it's game on and I will keep the drone and file this episode in, the epic impulsive purchases sections of my life, right after the chapter on motorcycles arriving at the door and me ending up in varied tricky situations..........I have actually done worse in the past but that's for another forum!

Let's just say that items have been purchased in the past that surprised me when they arrived to the point that unwrapping them was like a kid at Christmas and I wasn't even under the influence. 😂

Show the screenshot to your credit card company and have them reverse the transaction.
At this point you canceled the transaction and they took your money anyhow. That's not allowed.
