Controller Connection Cables

Does anyone know what type of cable plugs into the Mavic controller (and then into your phone)? Is that DJI proprietary or something I can buy elsewhere? Thanks!

There is a micro USB port on the left side and a USB port on the bottom. The small cables that come with the Mavic plug into the micro USB port on the side.

The port on the side of the controller looks rectangular and the phone cable will only fit one way round.

If you have a slightly thicker phone, you'll likely have a problem getting the connector into the phone socket. It becomes a worry that the phone socket will be damaged.
Just use the tiniest smear of Vaseline on a cotton bud and rub over the slider grooves and inner edges of the connector's black 'push-in' button. You'll find it a lot easier and less stressful!
