DIY FPV Ground Station >$500

A local pilot and I have been planning this for a while and I decided to be the guinea pig and put together one from our final build list of components. I can also run this from my Crystal Sky with my M2Z and with my Anafi using the HDMI out of my K1 Shield.

I will be doing a post build full test run tomorrow morning at the gun club.

As I am using this primarily with my Autel Evo II Pro, I have also incorporated the Live Deck, which has a internal battery good for over 4hrs. Pictured is my live deck with a mini (2500Mah) power bank which adds 2 more hours live video feed capability.

You could also do this I suppose with 5800 Weatherproof Protective Rolling Carry-On Case - X-Large this case and the smaller Viewsonic monitor that goes for $98 which would get you in for around $400. It's a cool idea though.

Agreed thanks for bringing that up.

Every build is different and based on the needs of the user. My post was just showing how easy it was to source components and build a ground station. Currently a preassembled FPV ground station with a 24" monitor and a smaller power supply is going to run $750.

But the dimensions of the monitor, components and the drone/accessories to be carried are the determining factor in the case used. In my case the monitor is 12.8" tall, 21.3" wide and the power supply is 7.88" tall.

Another thing to keep in mind is the depth of the case lid. The case I used has a lid depth of 1.5" and the thinnest monitor we could find in 24" (with the mounting point in the center of the monitor) was 1.8", leaving .3" extending into the lower half of the case.

Nice rig.? Think I can get by with the power pack and small monitor. Have a spare 24' that might get a new life. Good idea, thanks.
Been using a 750W ac/dc inverter with a motorcycle batt (for field batt charging) but the pack is more convenient fer sure.
