DJI ban in effect now?

Just FYI, my 3S bird seems to have gotten through everything from Shenzen to DC so far with delivery due in the morning. Hope everyone else has the same experience.

Mine got through without too much trouble. On target to receive it early this week.

Good thing I have my Mini 4 Pro, along with the Mini 3 Pro, which was replaced under warranty & came with the OEM pre-RID software.

I won't be "upgrading" that software!

This issue with Chinese drone paranoia could be a major reason that DJI has been so "nanny-state" with their software updates.

Considering the issues with the most recent updates to the Mini 4 Pro & the RC2 - crippling or disabling previous functions & abilities - I might just start looking for alternative manufacturers.

I am so fuggin' damned tired of the pissing party between 2 authoritarian gov'ts!

Horrible information in this video. I applaud the guy for trying, but this is exactly what is wrong with social media. Someone with partial knowledge on subject can sound like they know more than they do.

My comment on his video:

"You have some bad info here.

First, the CCCPDA is NOT in the Senate version of the NDAA. And it's not included amendments added to the Senate NDAA. It is also unlikely to be added. It would have to be added by unanimous consent before the Senate votes, and they don't have that available to them. There are a number of Senators who don't want this. In that case, it would have to be voted on, and they don't have time for that. It could also be added in the Conference Committee, but again, they don't really have time to hammer that out. The NDAA has to be passed ASAP, as you mentioned.

Second, the U.S. Customs issue has nothing to do with the DOD "Chinese Military Company" designation. It's because of the 2022 Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA). The UFLPA prevents any product with ties to the Uyghur region of China from being imported to the U.S. Those goods are held at the border until those claims can be defended. And all it takes is a claim by someone for this to be used. It is then up to the company to prove they don't use or source parts from the Uyghur region. It's literally guilty until you can prove you're innocent.

Third, The CCP owns 0% of DJI. 5.4% of DJI is owned by 2 state-owned banks, 1 state-owned insurance company, and 2 municipal investment funds. And even then, they only have 0.6% of the voting rights. And no "directors of DJI or its parent company, iFlight Technology Company Limited, are a government official, a representative of a government or state-owned entity, or a member or officer of the Chinese Communist Party (“CCP")". As per their DOD lawsuit filings.

Forth, drone owners in the U.S. cannot even upload data to DJI servers anymore. And even that data that you can upload in saved on U.S. based Amazon servers. Could the CCP gain access? Certainly, just like they can gain access to virtually any server at anytime they want. And even if they do, all they'll get is flight logs of previous flight. No photos or videos.

Fight, it you want to see what the DOD says, read the DJI/DOD filing. It's easy to find on the web.

Lastly, we will not see the CCCPDA signed by the end of the year.

Please don't spread fear and paranoia. We don't need it in this industry."

How about a ban on FALSE information?

It was tried during the last several years in the US under the rubrik, "misinformation". Predictably didn't work too well. One man's misinformation is another's gospel truth.
