Probably a silly question but is it possible to get DJI refresh on a drone once its been repaired?
I'm looking at buying a used drone that needs some gimbal repairs
Yes. Even though it was a “repair” almost certainly they will you a different drone. However you’ll have to get it repaired first. Contact DJI for details.
Once repaired you must record a video to show that everything does indeed work. You need to log into your DJI account for the details. I don't know where you live but some have purchased State Farm insurance. You get more coverage for less money.

Yes you can. The procedure depends on how and where you get it repaired.
If you repair it yourself or through any other third-party, then you can go through the procedure outlined on the DJI website, in order to prove that it is fully functional. It entails making a video with very strict parameters of what you must do with the drone while recording.
If you send it to DJI for repair, then all you need to do is apply for DJI Care Refresh right after receiving the repaired drone and registering it. DJI does a full quality inspection before shipping it back to you so they know it is in full working order.
I would think there may be a limit on how old an aircraft is before they won't accept a purchase of a refresh even with the video. After all, they only let you purchase Refresh once which lasts a year and then Refresh+ to extend another year and extend warranty.
But no harm in trying.
