What does it really provide? Is it a must have, and if so, why? I see they have a + version now also. Thanks

It basically allows you to replace your Mavic twice at a discounted price. You'll need to send your Mavic to DJI in order to get a replacement. See more details here.

DJI Care Refresh+ allows you to extend the coverage from 1 year to 2 years. You must purchase it before you use both replacements or your DJI Care Refresh plan expires. See more details here.

As cheap as it is, and as cheap as it costs to replace a craft using the program, it’s a no brainer to me.

It's like you go to the GM Dealer
And ask if they can service your Chevy...... Yes they can
But might you save money using
Another qualified mechanic.?

They don't cover cases where you lose the aircraft. If you're a new pilot or like to fly low and close to obstacles like trees or buildings I'd strongly consider it.

That's why, in the USA, I chose to get coverage with a State Farm Personal Article policy for $60/yr that covers up to about $3k worth of stuff. I added my Mavic 2 Pro & my wife's new 12.9 inch iPad Pro to the coverage (already had my Mavic Pro and a 17" HP laptop on the policy) for an extra $19 (premium now $79/yr). Zero deductible. Covers loss & breakage. Not available in California. Coverage is good worldwide for claims.

I have this also in addition to the DJI coverage. Just realize that the State Farm insurance is a one time claim. They will drop you after you make a claim. I've had to use the DJI insurance for a crashed drone and reserve the State Farm insurance for a fly away or un-recoverable situation. Also be aware that with the DJI insurance you will receive a refurbished drone and not a new one if you elect to not have it repaired and replaced.

State Farm all the way. $60 per YEAR. Replaced if lost, stolen or crashed. In Utah, State Farm does not drop you after making a claim.

State farm is general insurance, they're drop you if you have a history of making many claims like any other insurer. They'd raise your premiums across the board before that happens. No different than if you keep having car accidents at fault and claim.

I had them and they dropped me because I had multiple claims. Two times in 4 years someone ran into my rock wall. Sucks for me. It is a good plan but they will drop you if you have multiple claims even small ones..

Kind stinks because I was grappling between state farm and DJI Care.. Went with State Farm and got burned. Now I'm nekid! LOL.

I got the DJI protection. I figured it was cheap insurance should I crash a $1500 drone. One claim and it’s paid for itself.

I've got the Care Refresh on both my Air and M2P, but also have coverdrone cover for international stuff/theft/public liability etc etc.

Look over what they give you, and work out if it's for you, or your better suited to something else.

But either way, make sure your covered, and get public liability (or make sure another policy covers you). After all it's an expensive thing to have to replace if push comes to shove.

Use it once and they will boot you and not let you put your new replacement u get on their policy....had it happen to 2 friends so far....each time there explanation is its to costly and doesnt make sense on their end
