DJI care refresh, Foreign drone, local care refresh confirmation.

Hi all,
I am in the market for a Mavic air. and found some pretty good deals on Ebay will loads of extras. Much much cheaper than I
can get it locally here in Japan.

Now I realize If I purchase a MA from the us. the DJI warranty will only be valid in the US. So I probably would not use it as I`d have to pay shipping. So I would like to rely on DJI care refresh.
I have read conflicting things about this. On the DJI forum they say no (admin). If you buy a US drone you need a US care refresh.

So I am thinking about getting a package deal from Ebay (US) sent to Japan, where I live and will use the drone.
And want to purchase care refresh in Japan. So am just after some confirmation. Does anyone here have first hand experience with this.

I've no first hand experience but I've noticed claims both way with some claiming you can buy care for a grey import, some saying you can't. This person didn't respond recently but it sounds like they weren't able to purchase DJI Care Refresh for a grey import drone:

There are a number of sites on the net, where they say the drone and care refresh can be of different regions.
My wife found on the DJI Japan site and translated it. And it indeed says that the AC and care refresh must be of the same region. This may be a policy change, I dont know. But it does make the information on the Mavicpilots thread I linked above
incorrect. So I will not buy the deal I saw from the states. But wait for a sale here. They were going for ￥116,000 for the mavic air fly more combo, but now they have gone up to ￥129,000. The latter being the regular price here but thats more than a $100 increase. Japan is a strange country sometimes.

Strange, maybe, but my god its going to be one of the best places on Earth to have a dji drone! Incredible scenery and footage to be found everywhere I bet.

Yeah the coast near me is amazing, mountains covered with trees and snow, It is nice. But we dont have any wide open spaces,
not near me at least. Got a tello on the way for my boy so will play around with that first.
