DJI Denies the Mavic 4 Pro to the U.S.

FYI

The Mavic 4 Pro is up on the DJI websites around the Globe, except for the USA, one can find it on the DJI Canada ( English and French versions ).

As you have probably heard, apparently a few M4P drones were sold here in America already so those will have warranties and you should also be able to take out DJI Care Refresh.

So far I do not see an FAA RID DoC on the M4P but that's not surprising.
I am aware of only two YouTubers who received them for review, and Adorama may or may not have received any that they might have sold. Pre-orders at B&H and Adorama are not sales, and DJI has already announced that their Mavic 4 Pro warranty is void in the U.S. and the recent Fly update enabling Cloud Waypoint storage is also disabled in the United States. Clearly, since DJI has decided to not sell the Mavic 4 Pro in the United States, they won't be selling or honoring DJI Care Refresh on it either.

So, assuming that two units shipped directly by DJI to two YouTubers for a review were warrantied and able to buy Refresh is premature and unlikely. They were likely received under an NDA, and may also have to be returned to DJI, as DJI may have just paid them for their review, in lieu of giving them the drone.

As previously stated, if DJI wanted to, they could also simply impose a full NFZ over the U.S. for the Mavic 4 Pro. If too many people try and circumvent their U.S. sales prohibition, depending upon DJI's reasons for not wanting to sell in the U.S. (punitive?), DJI may follow through and implement such an NFZ.

Stay tuned.

If you bought it from a bona fide retailer or a merchant (not on the street or at a swap shot) in the US then you will get a warranty even if that means the seller end up honoring the warranty. It's not a black or grey market item. In the US, a warranty is not a perk, it's part of the law and if DJI won't honor it, you go to court or arbitration. DJI can't disclaim the warranty just because one it sellers sold it out of turn; that's not how it works. If you successfully activate DJI Care Refresh (which is a service contract which isn't guaranteed) then you have a warranty by default. It's 2025 not 1975; consumers have rights. We don't worry much any longer whether a manufacturer's defect will be covered.

It's in the law somewhere: https://www.findlaw.com/consumer/co...laws-and-the-magnuson-moss-warranty-act-.html

Au contraire. The Mavic 4 Pro is now a grey market product in the U.S. because DJI has announced it is not selling in the United States, and have clearly announced that their manufacturer's warranty is void for anyone in the United States. If Adorama mistakenly sold any "grey market" units in the United States, that does not bind DJI into warrantying them! Adorama would have to allow the drones to be returned for a full refund, or the buyers (if any) could choose to keep them as grey market sales, without any DJI warranty. B&H sells grey market cameras all the time for less than U.S. market cameras. The cheaper grey market cameras have no manufacturer warranty. Nothing unusual here.

The link to the Mavic 4 Pro in the DJI YouTube promotional video errors out with a 404 "webpage not found" message when clicked on from the United States. You can't even see the specs or read the owners manual! It does not show up in any search at DJI.com from the U.S.

They are serious!

The last I read, dji said they were not selling them in the US at this time. They did not say they were never going to sell them here, and as soon as the tariff fiasco gets resolved, I will be dji will start shipping product. Why would they abandon the US market?

"DJI reported to The Verge that there is no timeline for bringing the drone to America"

DJI isn't going to ignore the US market by any means, but I can't blame them for not shipping any product only to be held up at US Customs, that's inventory that can be sold elsewhere, makes good business sense, they are playing the long game here while they will do very well on the global market.

Meanwhile, we will have see how well the M4 works out from our Friends in other places.
They can and absolutely will ignore the U.S. In Australia ,we learnt the hard way what happens when you P/O China .They put an embargo on our wines ,even though we are closer and cheaper than America .They maintained the embargo for years ,until we apologized .We lost billions in wine sales .
We did deserve that slap on the wrist though ,for being arrogant twats .
