It is not simply needing to crop more with a 24mm lens as it also reduces the amount of image magnification and alters the perspective with subjects in the frame.

I would expect DJI to be selecting the lens based on the end users in the market segment for a pro level drone.

The president's tariffs are not legal but no one seems to care about the legal aspects anymore of the conduct of public officials or their criminal minions.

They can and absolutely will ignore the U.S. In Australia ,we learnt the hard way what happens when you P/O China .They put an embargo on our wines ,even though we are closer and cheaper than America .They maintained the embargo for years ,until we apologized .We lost billions in wine sales .
We did deserve that slap on the wrist though ,for being arrogant twats .

So I looked at the sample DNGs from the Mavic 4 Pro, and to me, they are all soft, even when the resolution was downsampled. I just don't think it's a good idea to pack 100MP into a micro four thirds sensor. Not even if you halved the megapixels.

Have you guys seen the cheap China cameras that are clones of Canon compacts? These are selling for extremely cheap and they pack 50-100mps on those small cameras, thinking that is the way. Awful.

So if you value image quality (I'm not talking about video quality), you are not losing anything if you give this a hard pass. IMHO. 20mp is the maximum this ought to go.

If you value image quality above all else, get an Autel (now those suck, but on a different level).

You do realise that you don't have to use the 100/48/50 MP settings for the cameras.
They also have 25/12/12 MP resolutions available too.
Have you looked into the image quality for those?

I don't look at a bunch of reviews, but on the Air3S and Mini4Pro, I think most pixel peepers preferred the image without the quad bayer filter. Not surprising if that's the case with the M4P as well.

I didn't like it, and I understand it's the direction DJI is taking now, like the smartphones. Nope, not my cup of tea, but if you keep the resolution low, I guess you can tolerate it. I have a Mini 3 Pro and I only shoot the 12 mp as I find the 48 mp quite unusable.

As you have probably heard, apparently a few M4P drones were sold here in America already so those will have warranties and you should also be able to take out DJI Care Refresh.

So far I do not see an FAA RID DoC on the M4P but that's not surprising.

More than likely you would get a 30%+ "taxes and duties" as the fee, based on current tariff for China made goods. That's minus any fees. which should be negligeable. 30% is a good chunk of change, but it's not 1175% madness. At the time,my calculations indicated an out the dorr sale price of $11,800 for the Creator Combo. It's a terrific package, but perhaps not that terrific.

These Quad Bayer Sensors are everywhere now. While there is nothing particularly wrong with them, there are some considerations. We see some weird color noise when shooting high pixel count mode - more when pixel peeping than normal viewing. on the Flip, Mini 4 Pro and Air 3/3S. A sharp reviewer nailed a few things in his review: The 3 Quad Bayer sensors on the new drone are particularly interesting.

The 4/3rds Sensor Hasselblad has 14 bit Raw Color Depth - the Mavic 3 Pro has 12 Bit.
CAVEAT: but only at native resolution of 25MP - and NOT in 100 MP Mode.

Another Leap is Dual Native ISO Fusion (dual iso for short) which allows greater flexibility when shooting in low light situations, across ALL THREE LENSES.

On the Telephoto side of things, we have 12 bit RAW's across all 3 lenses, again ONLY when shooting in the NATIVE resolutions of 12MP and 12.5MP

So while you can shoot in the high megapixel mode, and get some additional detail, sticking with the sensors native resolution preserves more dynamic range and color information. It's your call!

Modern sensor design improvements: Stacked sensors, rear-side illumination, dual native ISO and such all brings more image joy, and it's sometimes helpful to understand how it influences your images.
