Version 4.3.0 for Android just posted:

What's new:
Fully supports DJI latest drones MAVIC 2 PRO and MAVIC 2 ZOOM.
1. Adds Hyperlaspe mode where you can shoot stunning videos by simply setting several parameters.
2. Adds Dolly Zoom in QuickShot mode which enables you to create a unique visual effect first introduced by Hitchcock.
3. Adds the POI feature where you can directly select a subject on the screen and your aircraft will circle around it.
[Optimizations]
1. Improves the firmware update success rate

Since that last version, no more video returns ! I still have a Samsung Galaxy S5, referenced by MAVIC and which worked with the previous version.
DJI, you have to do something, I'm not alone in this case! Thank you

I specify that I have a Mavic Air.

Hi,
DJI Go4 for Android is a bad app, and I say this from an Android developer perspective.
Never-the-less, I run the app without any issues on all my Android devices (Mid range devices mostly).
To achieve this I invested a lot of time, and came with this guide:

as @elich11 points out (yet to watch all the video) I find it helps by deleting my thumbnails Skitch (1).png which can amount to over 2Gig' of junk and anything else I find along the way vastly improves the amount of screen glitch/garble I get before each flight.

Just finished watching the post above and I pretty much agree with what's been posted there!
Though I kick mine into airplane mode using tasker shortly after the app opens and it handles the screen brightness also.

So what you are saying is that they haven't fixed the app and we have to jump through flaming hoops to make our very expensive toy work the way it used to work three months ago. My fix is to use an older phone with the older version of the app (v.16) on it and keep it in airplane mode. That works pretty well.

Still need to have an old version.
And in airplane mode you do not have the background map.

Did you understand that I can not see the view of my camera on my screen since the change of version?

I know what you're dealing with. It seems to have affected nearly every non apple user since early June when they updated the app. I have an older version of the app (4.2.16) on a phone with no sim card and I keep it on do not disturb and airplane mode so there are no problems when flying. No you can not see the map area where you are flying unless you cache the maps before flying. Hopefully version 4.3 has fixed this, I'll find out tonight. I also use a Google Pixel phone which is at the high end of processing power for any handheld device and the transmission problems with lagging control and inability to see on the screen at times is dangerous. I destroyed one Pro Platinum model when it wouldn't respond to commands and flew into a tree. DJI has shown no interest in fixing this problem or even acknowledging that there is a problem.

4.2.2X versions is working perfect for me, except for lagging video at distance which is imho connection issue, because everything gets normal when i getting close again. No problems with map download too.

What elich11 has posted is good advice though going to the extremes of wiping your device I find drastic.
The best advice is the battery optimisation to be omitted...I hadn't done that before and did 2 flights yesterday in a built-up area with not even a sniff of any pixelation/screen garble using 4.3 (latest ver. of Go 4 app)

What's your phone or tablet?

My Google Pixel which has Android P is now working well with my Mavic Pro Platinum since the GO app update to version 4.3

Previous version was unusable on my Xperia M5. 4.3.0 works fine with some micro-stutering but perfectly usable. BUT had to clear cashe and uninstall from previous one. Since phone is perfectly capable of recording at 4k 30fps or 1080p 120fps issues are probably software.

My new Xiaomi A2 lite (Android one) Works like a charm, beautifully and smooth as a butter

Well, well, well...A tentative "Thanks, DJI" is in order. Just did a quick 10 minute or so, glitch free flight with DJIGo4 4.3. Running on Galaxy S7, Android 8.0, Mavic and R/C on second to newest firmware (R/C gave warning to update firmware, but I didn't want too many new variables to sort out.) Also did not do anything to prep phone other than closing open apps. Wifi was off, but I forgot to put into airplane mode. Sure hope this continues! Decision to upgrade firmware is a nail biter!
