DJI Phantom fyling at Montreal airport today.

Also, a news like this encourage the public to call the cop when they see a drone somewhere and then, the government send a taxes collector for illegal amusement...according to his new regulation.

That's what you get when imposing fascist rules on your citizens (like Canada did) -- they go nuts.

An Air Canada pilot informed the control tower that a DJI Phantom was flying at 4K near the Montréal airport today and an other one yesterday in Ottawa. The plane had to land on a different strip.

This is not the first time it happened in MTL. The media are saying that Ottawa requested help and 2 x F-18 were sent from Bagotville Québec. Link: 'It just went past our left wing': Air Canada plane avoids drone near Ottawa airport

Some guys deserve jail time for puting people life at risk and making bad publicity like that !
Flying at 4000 feet eh? Yeah right. Drones can't fly that high as we know.
It was probably another Air Canada flight the pilot saw.
A similar incident last year in Toronto when a Porter Airlines flight made a quick manoeuvre and two flight attendants were injured.
The report that went out stated that the pilots evaded a drone. However, that flight was 9000 feet high and half way over Lake Ontario at the time.
The manoeuvre was blamed on a drone but the pilot probably just bumped the control stick accidentally.

The (flight from Montreal) incident, which had the close encounter at Ottawa:

The Ottawa incident (happened June 2016):

I highly doubt it was a drone at 5K feet and traveling 55KM/hr and pilot saw it at 1.5KM away good luck with that one..It was likely a UFO...not the first time. So everything they say now is "drone" you would never see a Phantom from tha distance..no way ..

Ironic that this thread is right up there next to the "Maximum altitude hack" thread.
