Just an interesting note. Decided to try and get an unlock from DJI for an LAANC approval and got rejected. Here's the message:

"The GEO system has been updated in your country. DJI doesn't limit the drone in this area, the drone should take off normally. Please update the Flysafe database to the latest version, restart aircraft/controller/DJI App, and try again. Please fly the aircraft carefully while complying with the local laws and regulations."

Was wondering how this would be handled.

It means what it says. No unlock code is needed. You can take off normally. If you have LAANC approval, you will be flying legally. There will be no need to go through the unlock procedure going forward, as DJI has decided to abandon it.

I get it. I submitted the request to see how it was going to be handled in light of dropping GEO fencing. Now I know... ;)

Perhaps your original post would have been more self-explanatory if the last sentence read:

I was wondering how this would be handled, now I know.

FlySafe has informed me that Unlocks are still needed to exceed the 500m altitude limit above the HP on drones other than the Mavic 3 series and Air 3 series, required for mountain climbing from the base, when the peak exceeds 500m.
