DNG Files - again

Hi All
I know this has been discussed before but I can't find anything on the search.
Where are my dng. files?
Sounds like a simple question but they seem to come and go - on my micro sd card I had both jpg. and dng. files, I put them on my PC and worked on them.
Next time out, and leaving ALL the old files on the sd card, I returned to find NO dng. files, not even the ones from the previous excursion.
I know they are there but how do I access / view them (jpg. files are there)
I am using Windows 10 and Windows 8, neither work.
I have tried opening the card in explorer, using Nikon xfer and xfer2 and using the cable direct to the drone - NOTHING!
Anybody able to shed some light on this for me please?

If you can find the jpg files, the dng files are there too.
They don't get saved to different locations.

Are you sure that you shot both jpg + dng?
Could it be that you only shot jpg files?

If you shot jpg + dng, the dng files will be together wherever you saved the image files
There are only 1 or 2 places that could be.
The usual place is on the SD card, but some of the more recent models also have internal storage.
