I did just sign up to use this "studio" version. Looks cool and I am experienced with Key framing but, I have not had the time to train myself with it yet. . . All I do is "create a project" left side menu button, in the basic google earth. Search known places and add or add place marks for places that are not in there. Once you select a place, ie Utah, google gives you their standard view of it. From there double click and use the navigation tool in the lower right corner, Compass, tilt. . .to get a custom view you want, then in the lower right corner a button will appear asking if you want to "Capture new view," that you just established. That is how I Build a "presentation" adding and sequencing all these "views" of each location I want to highlight. Then I play back the presentation by pressing the presentation button. When you do, there are arrow buttons to advance to the next subject in your presentation like a slide show but the camera IS moving between the views not switching frames. . .
All this was a HUGE PITA to learn, many hours and still learning, but a fast learning curve. The next part is the coolest yet the biggest PITA. You can not control 'the path" the camera flies between subjects so you have to continue altering some of the views you capture to adjust the camera's flight path. I like the camera low often so sometimes I'll even add a "Dummy View," No real subject, to keep the camera low while flying up the road/route, whatever. This won't be nearly enough to have you easily building these cool Google earth presentations. Search youtube videos for more, if doing it this way you will likely want to search with Google earth PROJECT in the title. A full tutorial would be a HUGE video in and of itself, days of editing for me but, I do believe with this info it will cut off 10 hours of the hard work and frustrations I endured to get things to where I'm at now. Do note, google earth is outputting 60FPS so in a 30FPS time line you can run 1/2 speed with good results. In settings you can also slow the whole thing down if your internet speeds can not render the google earth scenes fast enough to maintain good detail. Then speed that up in post production. . . It is ALOT of work and learning, as is key framing the arrow to move with google earth as the world whips around. There are many skills earned from years of work and practice for me with no teacher, but with YouTube tutorials. I am please with the payoff but, I do want to move onto the Studio Version so I can have more control and an actual "render" of the clip VS being at the mercy of my slow internet speed, eventually once my priorities are met, moving, trying to stay fit and agile, managing rentals, life in general I think I have to wait till the dead of winter to have a bit of free time for another painful learning process, should be easier since I know much already, fingers crossed!
Cheers Brother!!!
