Yes all on M3. There a lots of internal calculations you have to make. This was a relatively low-heat fire as I know the grass (fuel) had a reasonable amount of moisture in it from some light rain the week before, plus that was evident in the flame color. Generally if flame is being pulled by a wind in any direction immediately above the fire is quite safe with a low-heat fire. Of course with a high-heat fire , more white flame, heat radiation is a different thing and can melt things (e.g. props) from quite a distance.Really gorgeous work Chris. Outstanding.
What altitudes were you flying over the fire areas? How close is safe from the heat and updrafts? And - was that an M3 or something else?
