Hey gang, I’m new to the group here and have an issue with my new-to-me Magic Mini

I purchased it second-hand and enjoyed it for a few days.

Today the app asked me to update the firmware, which I did.

As soon as it was completed, I took it outside and ran into these errors.
Everyone says to send it back to DJI but surely there’s something that can be done by ourselves?? Never had an issue before the update 😤

If it does need to be sent in, what is repair cost?
IMO it should be free since I did nothing wrong 😑

Thanks for your help!

The seller should have done a firmware update before selling to you.
What was the original purchase date?
Do you have it registered to your own DJI account?
If you can't fix the sensor error with any sort of calibrations then sending to DJI is likely your best solution.
DJI support has some repair costs listed so that would be the first place to look. If you do send it to DJI there is no cost for review. If you pay for repair, that's all there is to do. If you decline repair there will likely be a fee to have it returned.
As for free service, is it still under warranty with DJI?
You did purchase it used as-is, so have no recourse with the seller.

This is my first drone so I’m not sure how to register it to my account yet but I’ll look.

The seller had this drone from a wholesale pallet and knows nothing about it.

Is there a way to check the warranty status online?

I tried to connect it to DJI Assistant but didn’t see a way to calibrate. Is there a way to factory reset the drone or rerun the firmware maybe?

It’s a shame to have to send this in for potentially a software issue..

Thanks!

It should have been a requirement by buyer that all updates were completed and drone was in good working order such as with a test flight performed by the seller. Risk on the buyer so the buyer so the buyer should know all important details.

It should have been a requirement by buyer
And how will a fresh new DJI product owner know that?
Just because a screen pops up that mentions an available update, doesn’t mean it has to be done. There is no message along with that message that indicates that it must be done. Without the relevant knowledge of what he has in his hand, he now has issues that he wasn’t asking for. Since this is his first DJI product, he also may not know exactly where to search for the information needed to make the decisions on how best to proceed with his flying camera.

It's all about buyer's risk. For less risk it would be best to buy from DJI and get support.

After a few minutes, do you still get the IMU error?

Check that the vision sensors are clean and unobstructed.

Outside in a clear place you should eventually get GPS. It may take a while.

Do you have a drone repaid shop that gives free estimates? Mine does that, and has even fixed things for free when it was a simple fix.

(Doesn't do you any good, but useful if anyone from the GTA reads this :) )
