A tourist crashed his drone (mini 2 SE) over my house, he said if I found it now I could keep it, but it's locked with the binding, is there any way to unlock it? I don't know the guy and I don't know how to contact him .
thanks

Lucky You. Apparently not. You should have got his email at least. You can use it for parts only I guess.

not so lucky, I didn't know about this block so I didn't ask for contacts, I even bought the remote control finding out about the block.
thanks
Now you have two useless items in possession :(

Its a paperweight.....Sorry.

At the time, did he ask if you would give him permission to recover it? or ask if you'd be kind enough to find it and give it back?

the guy was on vacation, and he has to take the bus so he tolt to me where the drone was (on a tree) ann if i was able to recover it i could keep it
Unless he gave you the log-in details for his DJI account, or was generous enough to unregister his ownership... what you have is a drone that you might be able to fly a couple of times, after which you'll never be able to use again. Or if he's reported it lost or stolen: you won't be able to fly it at all.

It's a paperweight.

To respond to your second post on the same question: the drone is toast. You do not have access to the original DJI account it is bound to. The UUID (Unique User IDentification) is specific to the person it was originally registered by. Unless they unbind the drone from their unique account: no-one else can use it.

A great security feature of the DJI to stop thieves accessing and using your drone if it’s stolen or lost.
yes it will do that in the specific instance the drone is stolen alone without the controller (when has the ever happened) in which case there's nothing you can do if you don't take action quickly.

therefore, I would say it's a pretty lame security feature. it only got better when dji added a screen lock to the rc but we know nobody is going to use that, why? because they don't know what it's for, dji has never mentioned to anyone you needed it to keep your *drone* more secure (i.e. prevent the thief from unbinding you), why? because dji didn't intend it. it was meant mostly for lost/flyaway (i.e. drone and rc are *separated*).

100x more honest buyers are schlonged than thieves by this "feature."

Well we are all entitled to our opinion and for me it was great security when I had issues, Then again we don't have the luxury of Donald laws to stop DJI drone issues in our country haha

You can always enable the lock screen on the controller. Then thieves would have to get past that!
If the authorities think that drones are more dangerous than firearms, which the Americans do as they are banning importation of new models of foreign drones but firearms are prolific, shouldn’t it be a requirement that drone and remote are stored separately?
