What is "Protection Insurance"? This is not a known term.
UK residents only, (as per their website)I use Flyicarus. They keep asking for a review, but of course I can't assess them until I need to claim. Insurance is a waste of money until you need it. I hope Flyicarus is up there with the best, and not one of those companies that immediately finds ways not to pay valid claims.
I'm going to get a little too deep on this. I understand what you are saying. Another way to look at it is that you _are_ still getting something for your money (you are talking about liability insurance). You are getting the piece of mind that if something does happen, that you don't need to worry. So even if you don't have a claim, you are still getting something for your money. It's a lot like coverage for damage to the drone. If you have it, you may never file a claim but while you are flying you don't need to worry about crashing. That is, you don't need to worry about paying another $1200 out of your pocket while you are flying.Insurance is a waste of money until you need it.
There are a lot of threads on this with good answers given, as mentioned above. i can crash my car and this would involve "crash insurance". But there can be insurance for the damage to my vehicle (one thing) and insurance for damage to another car (something completely different).
I'm guessing you mean 1st party coverage for damage to the drone itself.
We work with FlyIcarus and they are very professional. The only time I've seen them reject claims is when the client obviously lied about when the crash happened, because the flight logs showed the crash happened before the policy started...
Thank you. That is very reassuring. I'm sure they are a very good company. Thanks for the information.
