Firefighters work to tame 'grim' blaze at Gold Coast tourist spot Burleigh Heads National Park

"Water bombers were grounded around 4:00pm and air operations were forced to cease after a civilian launched a drone over the area.
Police are investigating."

Will be interesting to see if there is a follow up to the 'police are investigating' part of the report.

Not sure there is any way of tracking the offender down if they managed to leave the scene without being noticed / detained.
Perhaps some sort of flight record if it was a DJI drone ?
Not sure if DJI would share such data if asked about any record that may exist.

The story has spread to minimal other media outlets this morning.

Idiots like this are what have caused the FAA to come up with RID...and if you are opposed to it...here is a perfect example of why it is coming
