Possibility yes ... I'm wondering if somebody opened up the Radome, without being prepared to catch the bits falling out. There has been something got through, so you'd think that there would be some 'bits' somewhere in there that would identify what it was that did the damage???

Agreed - if it were a drone then it should be obvious. Since they haven't announced anything then likely they found nothing. Unless, just possibly, it was a US Border Patrol drone and there are political considerations, but I think that's pretty unlikely. I expect that they will eventually publish that it was structural failure.
