Looks like a work opportunity will be taking me to the Chalk River/Petawawa, ON area in the near future. Anyone familiar with any provincial requirements that I may need to be aware of prior to doing some recreational flying? Thanks in advance.

I am also from Ontario. Might be some restrictions that you should check out. There is an Army base in Petawawa and a nuclear reactor mostly doing medical isotopes as well as a airport. It looks like a large area is considered class F airspace because of these restrictions. You would need permission to fly here. Here is the link to all of Ontario airspace. Just drag it to the Petawawa area and you will see the restrictions in red. WhereToFly Map Only View for iOS You could still fly here but have to drive a bit to get out of the restrictions and then you are in the bush. If you are going there soon be very careful when in the bush as the bears will be coming out of hibernation with cubs.

That must be all those bears we sent down to you Southern Ontario tree huggers as you did not want us Northern Ontario hunters to shoot the **** things.
Your welcome to gift. 🤣

Are u a Canadian citizen? If not you will need special permission from transport CANADA. You must have a registered drone and a license to fly a drone 250grams or heavier in CANADA.
