Drones "Spying" on New Jersey.

Yeah, NewsMax is pretty bad. It's one thing to have a right wing bias, which is fine if you have that slant, but NewsMax also rates low for accuracy.

What do you think of MSNBC?

Drone Saves Puppy in Parsippany, New Jersey! I am 95% sure the drone is real. The puppy may be CGI. ;)

Could have easily asked the question in a private message to the person, if you were, truly, just curious.

Good point, didn't think of that.

Although my honesty in stating my motives doesn't depend on a public vs. private query. Do often question others veracity in such meaningless, trivial statements?

I just don't know why we as drone pilots have to push that button just because we can legally do so does not me we should... You saw the "law makers" in the video and I can safely say... You do NOT want Washington all up in yours (and the rest of our) business.
We do not want people raising an alarm which doesn't take much to do. because if they don't know why thousands of drones... Ok 3 drones 35 passenger jets, 114 Helos, and 41 1/2 UFOs and scared people do bad things. and those bad things can be shooting into the air or worse call their congressperson and screaming at them...
They don't want to be yelled at so they start making rules and the party that is in control of the government is the one that wants to shut down drones to start with... So if we cool our flying by flying only during the day... Nobody complained about drones during the day, just at night because they can see those lights for miles and well...
We may be our own worst enemy by pushing it and saying "I have a right!" And that is what all the Karens out there say as well... Don't be those people...

This is the long version, there is a shorter version available, but in short there will be efforts to be more transparent with our government and in particular, UAPs were mentioned which means more details on what happened late last year in New Jersey.

My friend, transparency is our weakness. Ignorance is our strength. The FAA authorized drone "research and other things" to be conducted by unknown third parties for unknown reasons over New Jersey. We do not need to know anything else. Please do not speak out or question. It weakens our country.

When asked why the FAA never revealed it authorized the drones to fly for research purposes, FAA spokesman Christopher Mullooly on Tuesday referred the matter to the White House for its official statement.

I work in Atlantic City NJ. On Monday I spotted a large mystery drone in person during broad daylight.

I immediately opened Drone Scanner to see if it was transmitting Remote ID. This was located over our closed airport Bader Field.
No luck, it was not transmitting Remote ID.

I went to find the the operators to see if there was a reason they were not transmitting Remote ID.

I found the Army Corp of Engineers testing their new LiDAR drone.
Hybrid powered beast.
They proudly let me look at their drone and expalined they were conducting some training flights with the new system.
It flew by a command case with a fighter pilot stick or fully autonomously.

We just had a full beach nourishment project finish up. Time to survey the results.
Cool thing is I am going to survey the results also with our Mavic 3 Enterprise. Can't wait to compare outputs.

That sounds like fun! A question came to mind. If the drone is flying autonomously without remote ID, is there any radio signal communication with ground controller required?

I probably used the wrong wording. For autonomously I should of used flying a preprogrammed flight route. I did not get into too many questions as the gentlemen were busy and I could see that I had interupted them. They did state that they cannot use DJI (DJI's L2 is not as good as their LiDAR anyway) and use Harris since they are a federal agency.

I don't even want to guess what that little jewel costs.
I can't see a price for the 4-hour flight time hybrid model.
But here's the cheapo battery model's price.

NORAD commander says hundreds of drone incursions were detected at US military installations

February 13, 2025

Gen. Gregory Guillot revealed more details at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing about widespread, recent incidents that highlight the problem.

The Pentagon needs more technology and expanded authorities to deal with large numbers of incursions over U.S. military installations by small unmanned aerial systems, the commander of North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command told lawmakers.

Question: What is the big deal? I thought there was no threat, no foreign actors, just FAA doing research and stuff.
