Drones "Spying" on New Jersey.

There is absolutely nothing in that video that says that US or NATO bases are on alert, from drones sightings or otherwise.

The only content from the US military is an Air Forces Major General saying that "... have determined so far that none of these incursions impact the base residents, the facilities, or the assets that we have on those bases."

It amazes me daily what people infer from someone saying something very innocuous: like the incursions have no impact. Nothing in the statement says anything about timing of when and where these known incursions happened. A generalized statement trying to de-escalate a situation is taken out of context and used to fan flames. Is it any wonder officials try hard to not say anything?

Think about that. Right now, we don't have control of our own airspace.
You have no idea what our intelligence agencies do or don't know about this. Saying "we" don't have control of the airspace when you actually mean "you" do not have control of the airspace.

I understand there are all kinds of aircraft-related crimes being committed over the skies of NJ at this point
This statement sounds like those numbskulls saying that DJI is stealing all of our information without providing any evidence. So far, those that are in charge of the airspace (not those who want to be) haven't said anything of the sort. The only thing I've seen is the Boston Harbor police picking up a couple of guys. Not even in NJ.

When airports are forced to shut down because of drone incursions, then yea, we don't have control of our airspace.

I would think that the crowd in here would be more interested in facts rather than going with the "we don't know what it is, it must be bad, let's kill it" crowd.

Do you actually enjoy it when some paranoid citizen thinks you are a criminal when flying your drone?
I didn't thinks so.

An airport manager can close an airport if they have concerns. That doesn't mean there is anything the matter. They do it out of an abundance of caution.

But, please provide actual facts if you have them?

There is a thing called a copycat.
So, one airport being shut down because of a drone, among MANY sightings of drones all around other areas, is not an indication that all of them are unknown. It means that ONE was unknown.

If anything, it bolsters the possibility that the rest are completely known.

But which airport shutdown? So far this is all conjecture (aka factless rumor).

Within the confines of a military installation, for sure.
Oh no, the military hasn't shared any information with you about its secret missions? What a shame. Maybe it's just an oversight. They routinely contact me and all of my acquaintances and get our permission before they do anything because, you know, as taxpayers, we're their bosses. Even the check-out clerks at the local grocery store and the burger flippers at McDonalds are in the loop.

You'd think that folks who buy and operate drones should be particularly entitled to know what the military and our intelligence agencies are doing. I mean, as a bare minimum, haven't we all earned Trust Certificates?
Yeah you conveniently left out the part that gives this context. Outside of their joint bases....negative. No one said anything about in the loop, the keyword is "prohibited."

No, it is disturbing. Takes away from the fun for sure. Unfortunately, I think it is now way more likely to happen depending on where and when you fly.

References to any airports in NJ that have been locked down this week?

ps: this site says there haven't been any ... National Airspace System
Not New Jersey, but Stewart International Airport in NY was shut for an hour on Friday night after a pilot on approach to land observed "drone activity in the airspace"
That site you provided seems to just be reporting this day's conditions

A closed runway is not a shutdown airport. lol. Major difference. Airports close runways for large birds all the time.

Wright Patterson AFB was shut down for several hours Friday due to drone incursions. This base does some pretty sensitive and important work for the USAF and could easily be called our most important Air Force Base in the world.

When Wright Patt gets shut down due to drone activity, I think you can safely say we are not in control of our own air space.

Hey Chicken Little. Try reading the stories rather than just fanning the flames.

Robert Purtiman, a spokesman for Wright Patterson, said small unmanned aerial systems were spotted in the vicinity of the base late Friday.

“So far, our leadership has determined that none of the incursions impacted any of our residents, facilities or assets,” Purtiman said.

A spokesperson from the Joint Staff acknowledged that there had been sightings of drones over two military installations in New Jersey, but said such sightings are typical.

"We have had confirmed sightings at Picatinny Arsenal and Naval Weapons Station Earle," the spokesperson said. "This is not a new issue for us. We've had to deal with drone incursions over our bases for quite a time now. It's something that we routinely respond to in each and every case when reporting is cited."

Stick your head back in the sand

It's no big deal when the most sensitive base in the US has drone incursions.

It's no big deal when drones overfly our nuclear facilities and weapons plants in New Jersey.

It's no big deal when drones overfly our NATO bases.

It's no big deal when China floats a spy balloon over the US and collects sigint from coast to coast.

I guess we should all just ignore this and go back to sleep.

I'm saying it happens whether it's the military doing it or the FBI, CIA, DOJ, ACDC, ACLU, LGBT, or any other alphabet agency.

Seriously, any semi-intelligent person knows there is an organized LGBTQINKX4#£§ drone survellience effort under way ever since the election... because.

Name-calling, really? Are you actually 36 years old?

How did @Berf's honest, civil attempt to back up his POV justify this sort of schoolyard garbage?

Remember, being polite and civil is explicitly part of the rules. Name-calling, and insulting other's intellect exceeds those parameters.

And imagine how foolish you all will look if Chicken Little turns out to be right and the sky is in fact falling. Right on to those turtles holding up the earth, you know, the ones that go all the way down. 😁
