i tried davinci but gave up i thought my PC would cope but not a chance hence trying filmora and no issues.

I guess there is no rule that says I can't use both. Now that I know what proxy files are, both support them. So far shotcut seems more intuitive for me and less glitchey with a quicker learning curve.i may revisit davinci once I am comfortable with Shotcut.

I'm not sure what that means, lol! My videos render okay, it's just the scrubbing has a huge lag or it's just frozen. Is there a setting to change to "proxy"?
