You android users with this error you need to go into apps under playstore force stop then clear cache. Go into apps playstore services clear cache....I had same problem!

I believe your solution is coincidental.
I just retried on my tablet which failed more than an hour ago, but is downloading now without making changes. Not even a reboot (though it did go to sleep).

And it's working now on my HTC, though I did just reboot it.
