Financing

Must got a job ya think.?
I was thinking during his initial post that if this thread went on for much longer, he’d eventually turn 18. It did...and he probably did, too. :)

Honestly, best not. What's your plan if you crash the drone after having it for a week? You'll still be on the hook for the payments, but you won't have anything. Why not make the installment payments to yourself for a few months, and buy for cash?

There's a lot of good advice here, and patience is a virtue. We all know what its like to really want something you can taste it, and from my personal experience - buying it on installments or credit makes it taste - not as good honestly. A lot of us are talking from experience, and if we had a chance we would tell our younger selves the exact same thing: save your money, hustle a bit harder, and see where the best deal is.

This is a perfect opportunity to set a habit that can serve you well into the future. There are adults 2-3x your age that haven't figured that out yet. It was smart of you to ask, which tells me maybe a part of you recognizes it too. I'll promise you you'll appreciate it more when you've done it the financially responsible way.

It takes some effort but once you get there, it becomes a habit, i.e. good credit management. Below is my today's credit score. I still like all expensive toys :)

There a million (literally) better things to spend $1000 on at 18 years old.

How's your car? Your apartment? Your dog's food? Your cell phone bill? Your tummy, is it full? Is your hair cut? Do you have a nice wardrobe for job hunting?

Trust me (read: all of us)... I know that having a drone would make you the "cool guy" to all your buddies, but when you crash guess who won't be there to help you.

You're going to want insurance and skins and sd cards....

It's just not that simple

When discussing financing, everyone focuses on capital, but the real headache is how you actually collect those funds and manage the flow without losing a chunk to inefficiencies. I’ve dealt with messy payment setups before, and honestly, the technical side can break a good strategy. I eventually switched to https://corefy.com/checkout because it handles the heavy lifting of processing and routing so smoothly. It’s been a total game-changer for my workflow, making the whole "financing" part feel way more professional and less like a manual chore. Definitely worth a look if you're scaling!
Agree with you
