First flight - Battery lasts about 5 minutes before 40% warning

Latest software upgrade before first flight and the onboard battery will only last 5 minutes before it gives me the low battery warning. Another 4 minutes and it's got 7%. Does beginner mode use more battery? Any ideas?

No, it shouldn't take any more battery being in beginner mode. Did you top off the battery after firmware updates, the update process will actually drain the battery quite a bit.

Just received yet another firmware update and the fully recharged battery is now working properly. Also fixed the other issue, so I might be in good shape now, thanks!
