First Flight Questions

Owned a Phantom a few years back, just got a Mini Mavic today and had a few flights. Some issues that kept popping up;
-Period low battery warnings even though the pack was fully charged and the display showed ~80-90% charge left. This created a couple of return to homes and once I disabled that, I continued to hover with no true battery loss or shut down of drone.
-Payload warnings (I currently have the blade protectors on). Should I disable this mode while still using the protectors so I can fly a little higher?

it is not possible to disable the payload mode with the prop guards fitted, it switches to that mode automatically when you lift off
