So finally got time to take my Mavic out for its maiden flight today. I've spent many hours watching videos and reading posts.

I took it to some local woods which had vast amount of bluebells and wanted to get some cinematic footage flying between the trees with the bluebells below. Using tripod mode however every time I went about 10 metres forward at about 2 metres in altitude the Mavic would start to lose height and I would have to counteract it to stop it hitting the deck, when flying backwards when it got closer to me it started to gain altitude unexpectedly. Any ideas?

I'm on the latest firmware, Iphone7 and i did caliberate the compass prior to flying although it did fail to caliberate first time and I had to do a full re-set and do it again.

I also did get the app blackout, lots of reading suggests different lead and airplane mode. I did turn off wifi and Bluetooth but I did have my work phone on me also.

I was in some woods in the middle of nowhere with little interference in my mind.

Any suggestions? I've tried searching the web prior to posting.

Thank you in advance.

Realised I've posted in the wrong section, admin can you move it please? Thank you

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, to the naked eye no. I was only going about 20 metres forward and back. If you watch the video embedded you will see the Mavic head towards the bluebells before I had to intervene.

About 32 seconds in you see it. My edit of the video removes the majority of the issues I was having

This is due to terrain altitude difference. Your Mavic (theoretically) should mantain altitude if no control input.
