Flight Data Center – Change Metres to Feet

Greetings:

I have set my preferred units under ‘Settings’ > ‘Control’ to Imperial.

Under the ‘Safety’ tab, where I set up max. height/distance and RTH height, the units are imperial.

On the main flying screen, the units (speed, height & distance) are all imperial.

Yet when I pull up my Flight Data Center, I am getting metric units, with height and distance in metres.

I am using a Samsung S9+, and all my software/firmware on all devices is up to date.

I would appreciate any help from the numerous knowledgeable people on the forum.

Thanks!

you must be connected to the aircraft, the settings are on it

Unfortunately that is not it. I have flown, hovered, and just had the AC & RC connected, with no change.

Right now I have them connected, and it does not affect the units in the Flight Data Center.

Thanks.

That unfortunately can’t be changed... but the mental math is quick when and if you really need it.

OK... so when you say it can't be changed, I am at a bit of a loss.

I have seen other peoples Flight Data Center's showing imperial units.

Would you be so kind as to explain what exactly you mean when you say it can't be changed.

Many thanks.

Go to your settings ... don’t think the option is available. May vary from software in different drone types.

First off....... thanks for your input, and a Happy New Year to you!

OK.....there is a setting to switch units, as stated in my initial post and shown in my first photo.

When I switch to metric, all units in the software switch to metric. But when I switch to imperial, all units switch EXCEPT those in the Flight Data Center - again as stated and shown in my initial post.

From what I know and have seen, the units in the Flight Data Center should also switch to imperial, but for whatever reason this is not happening for me.

I am referring to the Mavic Mini.

(I attach a screenshot from someone else's Flight Data Center, showing the units in imperial).

Maybe message the poster of the file you uploaded... they must have the solution.

and Happy New Year to you!

Oh Thomas............... ? ?

But I did! And the solution was to change that setting. But it's not working for me. And that's why I'm here asking for help. And that's why you're trying to help me.

OK........ to be honest, I forgot to ask him what phone he uses. But it is working for him, and there is only that one setting. So hopefully we'll hear from any other uses who are in the same situation.

Thanks Thomas, I do appreciate.

There has always been a quirk in the larger DJI drones, that although you can set your display units to imperial, the RTH height is always in metres.
It's possible that DJI has a similar quirk in the Mini.
If your testing comfirms that's the case, just be aware of it.

DJI aren't here, so don't expect any response from them.

Thanks for that info Meta4.
Yeah, its not a biggie, but when you're like me, you want to have everything working as it should...... lol.
Oh........ yeah, I know DJI aren't here. Posted this at their site, and I guess forgot to take that out when posting it here.
I'll do a quick edit. Thanks for pointing that out.

Samsung S9

It may be a bug in the Android version of DJI Fly. Under iOS the Flight Data Center reports in imperial units if those are selected in the app. And note this is an app setting, not an aircraft setting, even though it is set in the aircraft preferences section.

At this point I am inclined to believe it is a bug in the Android version, just as you say.

Hopefully a fix will come some time down the road.

Thanks everyone, for all your input.

Happy New Year!!!

I didn't realize it does show correctly in iOS. I have an iPad Air, but I don't use it regularly. I just checked FCC last night on it and on my Tab S3 and HTC. Sure enough, metric on Android, user units setting on iOS.

imho it is all due to Artificial Intelligence. When the Chinese people from DJI see a user name from the European continent, they stubbornly set the settings to metric.

That can't be it. I can change the units in iOS, but it is stuck in metric in Android, and only for flight control data.
