1) do not calibrate mavic on boat
2) use hand catch
3) set return to home to mobile device

do you have any other suggestions?

No calibration anywhere near it. Hand launch and hand catch for sure - way too much metal. Set RTH to hover or at least keep resetting it to controller location every few minutes.

Turn off Downward position sensor
if you plan on flying lower then 30m (60ft) above the waters surface
Do not fly at sunset (Plays havoc with sensors)
Do not fly with less then 20% battery

and loss of signal with controller set to Hover Not "Land " or" Return to Homeport"
.....
This is not the same as Loss of feed(were your Go4 app shutdown) no picture on your Smart phone or tablet
I wish you never have to but the chance are good it will happen

Bring some scuba gear in case things don't go as planned. Just kidding, I'm sure you won't have any problems. The guys who have problems are those trying to fly from a moving boat.

3) remember that it does not actively track the remote, it just sets the rth point as the remotes CURRENT location at the second you press the button
