Flying mavic

Hi I new to my drone and been watching alot of YouTube so I can be safe with it. But my question is do u always have to calibrate the mavic every time u fly

I'm new and I don't calibrate unless the Mavic tells me so. No problems so far, only 12 flights though.

I only calibrate if I have gone over 50+ miles from where I was originally flying. We just took a trip...about 400 miles from home..and I re-calibrated Merlin23...flew like the champ that he is...we just returned this evening..when I take him out tomorrow..I will re-calibrate again because of the change in location and the travel.....

Only do it when the app tells you so.
Before you fly, it is better to wait for the app gives you GREEN status.

I received mine direct from China in early January and haven't calibrated anything . I do look at the map just before I fly though .If the map shows the craft is pointing in the correct direction then it knows its orientation .
