Terrific video. Your night shots were great. Did you have to do anything to them in post? What drone did you shoot with?
Hi Dave thanks for your comment, I’ve used the Mavic 3. Yes I had to increase the exposure a bit in Fcp on some of the darker shots.on the second night of shooting I shot during magic hour, the clip following the fountain with pink clouds was one of them. I found they turn out better filming earlier.

Hi there! Great video and shots. Have always wanted to fly over the city but ofcourse NFZ has always bogged me down. Could you let me know what was the process for approvals to fly over? Recently move to Canada from Europe.
The Ottawa River is restricted airspace from Crystal Beach all the way down to Petrie Island, judging by the NRC tool, which means getting flight authorization from NavCan (and the Parliamentary security service if near CYR537 PARLIAMENT HILL).
Getting approvals is apparently done through the NavCan drone app (either on your phone or a web app). I only have a basic license so I've never done it and don't know how complicated it is and what the lead times are.

One solution to flying around Ottawa would be getting a sub-250 g drone. Those aren't automatically restricted from flying in control zones (although the CYR537 PARLIAMENT HILL, CYR538 RIDEAU HALL and a few other security zones still apply), although you're of course governed by 900.06 of the CAR.
Legal aspects and authorizations aside, nice video!
Smooth moves, good editing, great colors of the day and dusk shots and the night shots are mesmerizingly beautiful too. What's there not to like?
