I need to do more studying about this throughout the year, but I've been told it's not so much the 1km zone that's the problem, it's the warning zone that expands further than that, where most of the time planes are very unlikely or even never will fly within, yet non-commercial pilots are still not allowed to fly within them. I haven't been near one of these warning zones yet so can't confirm. I have no interest in airports or filming aircraft, I prefer remote locations with decent scenery. I can see a couple of areas near me where there are warning zones that cover areas that a plane will never fly in (unless military), so if my drone can't fly in those then yes maybe these zones need to be looked at.
