I’ve had a Mavic 2 Pro w Smart Controller for ages. Used only occasionally. I’m thinking of buying a set of goggles and maybe also the RC motion just for fun but I’m wondering how it impacts on filming. Does camera work become smoother, look more natural?

Incidentally my daughter stood on it and broke the middle frame, I just had it repaired but they actually sent me a replacement new drone still sealed in a box.

Might also buy a surf fishing attachment for it, just to get more use out of it.

It still all depends how you fly..Goggles will take you a few flights to get used too. Don't let it keep you from using them!! It takes time..I fly exclusively with goggles now.

DJI doesnt repair Drones they just send out refurb replacements.

Just check your countries laws to make sure you can fish with a DJI. Here in the U.S. some states will let you fish with a drone, BUT most will not allow a DJI drone. Camera equipped aircraft cannot fish in most states here..

Do you think the RE goggles are worth paying that little bit more for? It’s about an extra $100 AUD or say 30% more, any impact on filming or user experience over the Goggles 1 ?

I gave my drone to King IT not DJI, thinking they would replace the middle frame but King advised they sent it out and the shop assistant said according to the paperwork it was was a new replacement….. I assumed and asked “surely refurbished” but apparently not. I haven’t opened it yet but will advise if it looks refurb.

I will check the local laws re fishing.

Appreciate your comnents thank you.

The two are very similar The RE is the most useful of the two The RE will receive analog transmissions from any FPV Drone, Thats really what makes them better than the goggles 1, they are both pretty heavy! I dont see much of a reason too pay the extra hundred if your not gonna use them for other analog drones.
As far as filming goes all I can say is the pros film exclusively FPV so I think its the best way to keep your eye on your subject for sure!, I don't film much myself, I just use cams as my eyes, and I always fly with goggles now, and I dont use "modes" just acro.
