Golf course drone usage in the UK

Hi All

Not a drone pilot yet but as a golfer looking to get some of the northern ireland courses onto golf simulator software GSPro, I'm looking advice before I approach the courses to get permission to obtain course footage to allow the creation of the virtual courses. First do I need the permission of the course to fly over it? Any other advice is appreciated.

@Roonmeister ,it would be courtesy to ask permission to fly over the course ,even if you are only flying a sub 250g drone
and as a golfer yourself,you probably already have knowledge of what others reactions might be, if a drone were to fly over the course,

For the courses that might be open to the idea, I'd be very surprised if all of them didn't expect you to pay a fee to film or shoot (GSPro being commercial subscription based gaming software).

Some managers might be persuaded by the fact that having a virtual course online globally would attract more visitors, but convincing them of the benefits could be an uphill struggle. It may all hinge on how good a salesman you are.

In the U.S. I dont know of ANY golf course that allows Drone flights from the property, and golfers are notorious Karens and Kens!
Having said that The course across the street from me granted permission after I talked to the Proper people.
They had some rules of there own tho but really nothing you dont already have to do.. e.g. Stay well away from Golfers, If one complains...Land, and as I am sure with any course STAY OFF THE GREEN!!! They and the golfers as well love my little flights around the course and many will now take little 3 min breaks To watch my whoop fly around the hole I sit by.
