NFZ is shorthand for an area where you are not permitted to fly by FAA refs and designations. AirMap and DJI might not be 100% accurate but if you think they don’t exist go try to land your drone on the White House lawn. - just speaking rhetorically.
So, it is legal to fly in Washington, DC then?NFZs do not exist in law. They are informational in such things as Airmap, and firmware restrictions in DJI parlance.

Very nice and very illegal.Nice video and spectacular scenery, of course. I guess you are safe from NPS LE action if they don't catch you at the time.
EDIT: Or maybe not....

LOL!!! Nice try. Love the video by the way, but one only needs to watch the first 10 seconds to know that is NO WAY that was done with a hand held gimballol.... guys... the drone footage was from outside the park. Is that your perspective on all criminal activity like shop lifting and such? Or just drones in general?Nice footage and post-p, Jimmy. Thank you for sharing.
To the critics: Are you trying to provide "supportive" feedback regarding regulations or throw a fellow drone operator under the bus? Pointing out the possibility of an FAA/ NPS airspace violation is important. In this case, perhaps private message would have been a more supportive method once the initial observation had been made.

I was told the entire river was an NFZ in another forum. I have not checked to see for sure, because I have no intention of going there and flying a drone.

BOTH being against the regulations and subject to fines. IF the river (that resides in the bottom of the canyon) IS an NFZ then the FAA can get involved?.NFZ and not being permitted to launch, land or operate within a NP are two _completely_ different things.

again, I got the river being an NFZ from another forum. There was a map shown there with red blocks all along the length of the canyon over the river all the way to bulhead(?)city. (not sure that was the city name) There was a different style of markings over the Nation Park areas of the Canyon. (that is practically all of the canyon)There is no such thing, in FAA terms, as a NFZ.
