I am expecting my Mavic Pro Platinum this afternoon. Some do's and dont's and first things will be welcomed!
First read the manual, then read it again, until you understand what it's telling you. Get as much info' as possible from posts on YouTube and on this forum. Get in touch with other flyers in South Africa (there are several on this site) who might also share their experience with you and who might be close enough to where you reside to meet up and help show you the ropes. I'll be visiting your country in May, hoping to fly my Mavic and video some of the wonderful scenery there, but left scratching my head why the South African authorities have height restrictions and airport exclusion zones more conservative than most of the rest of the world where it's not illegal to fly a drone. Only Cuba and Nicaragua (as well as some in the middle east) are more restrictive. Perhaps they don't realise American satellites have the capability to read car number plates from hundreds of kilometres up in space and a tourist flying a drone won't be able to add anything about the lay of the land that the C.I.A. spy satellites don't know already!I am expecting my Mavic Pro Platinum this afternoon.
