Have you tested your drone's collision avoidance?

I recently got a Mavic Air and keep meaning to test its collision avoidance and its APAS mode but just don't have the courage to fly the thing straight at an obstacle, even though I know that doing this when it's near the ground, has soft grass underneath, etc, is much more sensible than waiting until it gets into trouble, perhaps hundreds of feet in the air, before finding out if it works or not.

It got me wondering: how many of us deliberately test collision avoidance and APAS?

I have tested the OA on all my drones and I am happy to report that they all work properly!

You can test it at a slow, safe speed that, if it failed, you could still stop the drone before collision. I ran my Mavic Air at full speed. (~25mph) toward a tree trunk. It stopped itself well before the tree...not even close. If it had failed to stop, I was ready to drift right to avoid the trunk. Worked great.

I tested it on myself for a tutorial video, it starts at 16s
